In one of the biggest blowouts in Heisman voting history, quarterback Vinny Testaverde crushed Temple running back Paul Palmer by a total vote margin of 2,213 to 672.
Palmer's 15 touchdowns on the ground and 1,866 yards rushing were no match for Testaverde's 26 TDs in the air and more than 2,500 yards passing – not to mention his leadership in taking the Hurricanes to just one win shy of the national title before Penn State upset them in the 1986 Fiesta Bowl.
