Michigan, Notre Dame Lead Colleges with Most Super Bowl-Winning Quarterbacks

Which college football program should you turn to if you're looking to add a potential Super Bowl-winning quarterback in the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft?

Here's a look at which schools can boast that their alumni have quarterbacked the most Super Bowl wins.

Some schools — like Michigan — can thank just one quarterback for all the success. Others — like Purdue — have sent multiple QBs to the NFL who went on to win Super Bowls.

Here's the list of colleges who have Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks on their list of alumni:

Two colleges stands above all in terms of producing Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks — Notre Dame and Michigan.

The Fighting Irish owned the 1980s as Joe Montana and Joe Theismann claimed a combined five Super Bowl titles from 1981-1989. Montana led the San Francisco 49ers to four titles, while Theismann led the Washington Redskins to a title in 1982.

Michigan joined Notre Dame atop this list last year after Tom Brady lead the Patriots to another title. Brady has won five Super Bowls with the Patriots — 2001, 2003, 2004, 2014 and 2017 — and a sixth this year would put Michigan ahead of everyone.

Several schools have produced four Super Bowl-winning QBs.

Alabama had four Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks on its resume by the mid-1970s but hasn't produced a Super Bowl-winning quarterback since. Bart Starr led the Packers to wins in Super Bowl I and Super Bowl II, Joe Namath picked up win No. 3 for the Tide with the Jets in Super Bowl III, and Ken Stabler added the fourth in 1976, leading the Oakland Raiders to a victory in Super Bowl XI.

Louisiana Tech has Terry Bradshaw and the Pittsburgh Steelers to thank for four Super Bowl victories. The Steelers earned Lombardi Trophies in 1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979.

Purdue, like Alabama, produced four Super Bowl-winning QBs with three different quarterbacks. Len Dawson led the Kansas City Chiefs to a victory in Super Bowl IV, Bob Griese led the Miami Dolphins to wins in Super Bowls VII and VIII, and Drew Brees and the Saints took home a victory in Super Bowl XLIV.

Stanford rounds out the list of schools who have produced four Super Bowl-winning QBs. Jim Plunkett took the Oakland and later Los Angeles Raiders to titles in 1980 and 1983, and John Elway and the Denver Broncos won back-to-back Super Bowls in 1997 and 1998.

BYU produced a pair of Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks. Jim McMahon led the fabled '85 Bears to a victory in Super Bowl XX, and Steve Young and the 49ers took home the Super Bowl XXIX title.

Miami (OH) has Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers to thank for a pair of Super Bowl titles in 2005 and 2008.

Navy alum Roger Staubach led the Dallas Cowboys to Super Bowl VI and Super Bowl XII championships.

Ole Miss sent Eli Manning to the New York Giants, where he helped the team win Super Bowls XLII and XLVI.

Tennessee also has a Manning with a pair of Super Bowl wins, as Peyton Manning led the Indianapolis Colts to a victory in Super Bowl XLI and the Denver Broncos to last year's title in Super Bowl 50.
