Despite a disappointing season, Notre Dame isn't afraid to throw shade at Michigan, a program that won more than four games last year.
Derrik Allen is four-star defensive back in the class of 2018. The 6-foot-2, 211-pounder from Marietta, Ga., committed to Notre Dame in February, picking them over Georgia, Ohio State and others. Though he has remained firm in his commitment, the Irish are still pulling out all the stops to keep him.
This week he tweeted photos of a trading card the Irish sent to him. While the card itself is awesome, the details are particularly interesting.
As an immediate impact player, Allen played in all 12 regular season games. He made his Irish debut in the 48-10 victory over Michigan, recording 10 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 FF and 2 INT
It also said he won the Jim Thorpe Award as the top defensive back in college football and was preparing to enter the 2022 NFL Draft. Michigan fans will be quick to point out Notre Dame's 4-8 record last year, along with their 6-3 record against the Irish in their last nine meetings.
