Alabama Isn't Ruining College Football
Updated National Title Odds[divider]
It should come as zero surprise that Alabama would be favored against the three squads it's most likely to face in the playoffs. What is surprising is how large the spreads are right now.
The experts like the Crimson Tide to beat Clemson by 8.5, and considering what Nick Saban's crew did on the road at LSU on Saturday night, that number feels about right.
What's a bit of a stunner is the oddsmakers liking them to defeat Michigan by two touchdowns and Notre Dame by a whopping three TDs.
To give you a bit of context, the Crimson Tide were 3.5-point favorites over Clemson in the semifinals of the playoffs last year and won by 18. It was also a 3.5-point favorite over Georgia in the title game but were unable to cover as it won 26-23 in overtime.
