Another wild weekend in college football will ultimately turn the playoff rankings inside out come Tuesday night. Let's give it a crack.
[divider]COMPARE: Playoff Contenders | Heisman Favorites[divider]
The No. 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 teams lost over the weekend and there are now just four undefeated teams left.
Here's how I see the committee spitting out the new Top 10 Tuesday:
10. Ohio State, 8-2
9. USC, 9-2
8. Notre Dame 8-2
7. Auburn, 8-2
6. Wisconsin, 10-0
5. Georgia, 9-1
4. Miami, 10-0
3. Oklahoma, 9-1
2. Clemson, 9-1
1. Alabama, 10-0[divider]
Here's how I'd rank them through Week 11:
10. USC
The Trojans remain on the outside looking in on a playoff spot and have little chance to get there without a lot of crazy help,, but here they are, a chance to win the Pac-12 title, waiting for three or four more teams to bite it.[divider]
9. Ohio State
The Buckeyes are in the same boat as the Trojans, but with a better loss and a better win. Run the table including a win over now-unbeaten Wisconsin and they'll make a case as the best two-loss team in the country.[divider]
8. Notre Dame
The Irish may have lost their shot with the poor showing in Miami, but they do finish with a decent Navy team and on the road at Stanford, who likely will be ranked again this week after a big win at home over Washington. No conference title game hurts, however, as does dropping both their matchups versus top opponents (Georgia, Miami).[divider]
7. Auburn
After blowing out Georgia, Auburn hosts Alabama in two weeks. If they win that, they'll face the Bulldogs again in the SEC title game. Winner is in, even if it's the two-loss Tigers.[divider]
6. Wisconsin
Wisconsin looked pretty strong in dominating a decent Iowa team Saturday. They won't have a great resume, but an undefeated Big Ten champion will be one of the four, so the Badgers have to be taken seriously.[divider]
5. Georgia
Georgia still can get in by winning out, one of which will be over either Auburn or Alabama in the SEC championship.[divider]
4. Miami
Miami controls its own destiny, too, after blowing the doors off Notre Dame. They finish at home with Virginia and on the road at Pitt, then will take on Clemson in the ACC title game. That one's a winner-in matchup — and probably a loser-out game, too.[divider]
3. Clemson
Kelly Bryant's health lends enough confidence in the Tigers offense to score 24 points a week and that may be all they need to win out, including in the conference title game versus Miami. But the Hurricanes will bring speed on defense Clemson only sees in practice, and Dabo Swinney's clan should not sleep on South Carolina on the road.[divider]
2. Oklahoma
The Sooners have three very good wins; at Ohio State, at Oklahoma State and versus TCU, pushing them ahead of Clemson, whose loss — at Syracuse — is far worse than OU's (Iowa State at home). It's close, but I like the Sooners at No. 2. For now.[divider]
1. Alabama
The Crimson Tide treaded water early but the schedule has been better of late and they have taken care of business. They're susceptible, even more so than last year's team on defense, but are a tick better offensively when they put their heads down and run the football with Jalen Hurts and the best running back tandem in college football.
