HERO Sports FCS Coodinator Brian McLaughlin hopped on the phone with newly-signed Seattle Seahawks defensive back Lorenzo Jerome. Jerome was added to the Seahawks roster recently, taking the place of retired linebacker Joshua Perry.
Jerome was a HERO Sports FCS All American out of St. Francis (PA) in the NEC in 2017. He's the first St. Francis (PA) player to play in the NFL regular season since Joe Restic played in three games for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1952. Jerome was the first NEC player to play in the NFLPA Game and the Senior Bowl, and he was invited to the NFL Combine.
Last year, Jerome played in four preseason games for the San Francisco 49ers, starting two lined up next to Eric Reid. He made the opening day 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie free agent
He played in four regular season games for the 49ers against Carolina, Los Angeles, Arizona, and Indianapolis, registering three tackles, 72 snaps on defense, and 44 snaps on special teams. He was waived in October and just signed with Seattle on July 30.
