MORE NFL Draft Previews: Marshon Lattimore Highlights
Between now and the end of April, we will feature some of the NFL stars of tomorrow. Many of these are names from big time college football programs you will recognize, while some will be new to all but the most dedicated followers of the sport.
Today's highlight video features Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara. Kamara was considered to be a solid player before the NFL Scouting Combine, but his work at the event has seen him be universally moved up on draft boards across the league.
Just how far Kamara has elevated himself we will not know for about a month and a half, but there are some who think his workout performance could have pushed him to top three running back status in this draft. Kamara managed to nail both the interview and the on-field portions of the combine, showing a high football IQ and energetic personality in the sit-down meetings.
On the field, he displayed the skills that you would expect after seeing this video by showing potential as a runner, receiver, and return man. It was the receiving that especially impressed scouts as Kamara was outstanding out of the slot receiver position at the end of his workout, catching balls that even a dedicated WR would struggle to hold onto. That ability to catch the ball out of the backfield is almost a requirement in the modern NFL.
