The 2017 NFL Draft is upon us. The yearly extravaganza is taking place in Philadelphia from Thursday, April 27 to Saturday, April 29 this year.
Over the span of three days, a whole host of former college football stars are finding new homes where they will hopefully impress during the offseason and make a living playing on Sundays.
C.J. Beathard of Iowa was taken in the third round of the draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Beathard was not expected to go this high – he was the sixth overall quarterback taken – but he does have a number of pluses including playing the pro-style offense of Kirk Ferentz. Beathard was better as a junior when he had just five picks on the year compared to 10 in 2016.
