Rice made a lot of great decisions in revamping their brand, among them: retaining the classic Old English 'R' logo.
The school spent the last two years working with adidas and a design agency to, "create an identity that is consistent, authentic and recognizable," the school said statement on Tuesday when unveiling new logos.
The rebranding includes two new secondary logos, a new wordmark, and a slightly altered color palette, among other small changes.
"The Rice Athletics brand is the culmination of everything we stand for – our culture, our interactions, our performance," they also said. "It is our connection to the community and its connection to us."
