It all started with a win over Oklahoma State on the road September 23, but the TCU Horned Frogs are in the catbird seat in the Big 12 thanks to Iowa State's upset over Oklahoma Saturday.

KESSELRING: Oklahoma Still Has a Path to Playoff[divider]
TCU took care of business at home versus a solid West Virginia team and now are perched atop the conference standings at 2-0. Whether or not this ends in a playoff berth for Gary Patterson's program remains to be seen, but while we're a long ways from the finish line, the Horned Frogs are the only Big 12 team to essentially control their own destiny.
It's not going to be easy, however. Here is TCU's remaining schedule:

Four road games are left for TCU, including the back-to-back visits to Norman and Lubbock. Kansas State can be a pest, particularly in Manhattan, and Texas could prove to be a tough matchup if Shane Buechele is healthy.
Are there reasons to believe TCU could get to Week 1 at Oklahoma unbeaten and then upset the Sooners? Sure.
TCU ranks No. 2 in the conference in scoring defense behind only Kansas State, entered Saturday tied for the lead in sacks and rank in the Top 3 in several other categories.
Quarterback Kenny Hill has played consistent football thus far, completing over 70 percent of his passes and throwing just three interceptions. Hill caught a throw-back pass and ran for 48 yards and a score late in the third quarter to give TCU a 24-17 lead. He then ran for a score with less than three minutes remaining, which proved to be the game winner.
Oklahoma showed vulnerability Saturday, allowing the Cyclones' backup QB to throw for 368 yards and three TDs, including the game winner to Allen Lazard with 2:19 left.
