There is no doubt that BR-8 TCU‘s second half schedule is considerably more demanding than their first half slate. After recording wins over Minnesota, Texas and Texas Tech over their first seven games, the Horned Frogs will face Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Baylor in three of their final four game games. However, before Gary Patterson’s playoff-seeking team turns its attention to those résumé-building opportunities against elite conference foes, they welcome BR-28 West Virginia to Fort Worth in Week 9.
The Mountaineers nearly upset TCU in Morgantown last November, dropping a 31-30 game at the final horn when Jaden Oberkrom’s 37-yard field goal split the uprights. Although TCU still missed out on the playoff because of that meltdown at Baylor three weeks earlier, it was a huge season-saving win at the time.
