In what year did Boise State install blue artificial field?
Boise State needed to replace the turf at (what was then named) Bronco Stadium but didn't want to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a run-of-the-mill green field. So they installed a blue field. What year was it?

Answer
1986
Bronco Stadium (now Albertsons Stadium) opened in 1970 and after 16 seasons of playing on green AstroTurf, Boise State needed new turf. Then-athletics director Gene Bleymaier didn't wish to spend $750,000 without anyone taking notice.
Instead, the Broncos — then a D1-AA member of the Big Sky Conference — opted for blue turf in 1986.
