While Twitter is not one of the many companies broadcasting this year's draft, the social media giant is upping their coverage of the three-day event with an improvement to player hashtags.
When a player is chosen, their new team's logo will appear next to their hashtag name in all tweets, reported Eric Galko of Optimum Scouting. For example, if Sam Darnold is selected by the Cleveland Browns with the first pick on Thursday night, the #SamDarnold hashtag will be accompanied by a Browns logo.
Twitter has used images or emojis alongside hashtags for years but this is believed to be the first time they are updating accompanying images in real time.
