Adrian Peterson is one of the best running backs the NFL ever has seen. He spent his entire career in Minnesota as a member of the Vikings. Until now.
Peterson is the Vikings all-time leading rusher with 11,747 yards and touchdown scorer with 102 — five of those receiving.
He ranks No. 16 in NFL history in rushing yards and with 328 more yards this season will pass Thurman Thomas for No. 15. He's within reach of Steelers legend Franco Harris' 12,120 yards and with a 1,000-yard season this year would pass Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett for the No. 9 mark.
Peterson is 32 years old, so there's no telling how many carries are left in those legs and in New Orleans he's not going to be the feature back. Mark Ingram and rookie Alvin Kamara figure to share time with Peterson.
