Entering the 2019 college football season, only four teams had ever been ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff Rankings: Alabama (18 times), Clemson (eight), Mississippi State (three), and Georgia (two). Through the first two weeks of the 2019 rankings, we already have two first-time No. 1 teams in Ohio State and LSU.
LSU grabbed the No. 1 spot from Ohio State in the Week 12 College Football Rankings after a five-point road win over Alabama. It's just the fourth time LSU has been ranked in the top four: No. 2 in Week 9 of 2015, No. 3 in Week 9 of 2018, and No. 2 in Week 11 of 2019.
Minnesota jumped into the top 10 after last week's win over Penn State. It's the first time the Gophers have ever been ranked inside the top 15.
