The 2020 WNBA Playoff field is set after a tight race for the final spot between the Washington Mystics and Dallas Wings.
The defending champs were able to beat the Atlanta Dream 85-78 on Sunday night in the final regular season game of the season to secure their spot. Had Washington lost, the Dallas Wings would have been awarded the spot.
Ariel Atkins led all scorers finishing with 26 points and Myisha Hines-Allen added 16 for the Mystics.

The WNBA Playoffs will begin on Tuesday, September 15 with the Chicago Sky taking on the Connecticut Sun at 7:00pm ET and the Phoenix Mercury facing the Washington Mystics at 9:00pm ET in the single-elimination round. Both games will air on ESPN2.
The second round will also be single-elimination format as the the No. 3 seeded Los Angeles Sparks will host the lowest seeded first-round winner and the No. 4 seeded Minnesota Lynx will host the other first-round winner.
The best-of-five Semifinals will tip on September 20 with the No. 1 overall seeded Las Vegas Aces taking on the lowest seeded second-round winner while the No. 3 seed will tip off against the other Semifinals winner. The two winners will earn a berth in the best-of-five WNBA Finals which will begin on Friday, October 2, but it subject to move up earlier.
All WNBA Playoff games will air on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC.
