Big 12 Champion Odds: Can Any of These 4 Teams Dethrone Oklahoma?

Big 12 Champion Odds: Can Any of These 4 Teams Dethrone Oklahoma?

A lot has changed since we last saw Oklahoma lose in overtime to Georgia in the Rose Bowl last New Year's Day. The biggest change comes from behind center as Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield has taken his talents to the Cleveland Browns. One thing that hasn't changed, however, are the oddsmakers placing the Sooners as the team to beat in the Big 12 title race.

Although OU will be breaking in a new QB, the squad's schedule is most favorable. It plays five road games compared to seven at home, and they play all three non-conference games against FAU, UCLA, and Army at home.

There's probably only four real legit contenders to become the first team to win the conference other than Oklahoma since 2014.

Texas is slotted slightly behind Oklahoma at +350, and the two will duke it out in the Red River Showdown on October 6.

Oklahoma State is next at +500, but they have only knocked off the Sooners twice going back to 2003.

The high-powered offense of West Virginia is next at +600, and they will have their shot to prove their worth during a final four stretch of games to close out the season against Texas, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma.

Speaking of the Horned Frogs, TCU gets both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State at home, but we might know a heck of a lot more about them after a September 15 non-conference home game against Big Ten power Ohio State.

Now to the other end of the spectrum. Last, but not … OK they'll probably just be last, are Kansas who clock in with astronomical odds of +10000.
