Under first-year head coach Jeff Choate, Nevada is clearly a program on the rise in the Mountain West.
The Wolf Pack most recently defeated Oregon State 42-37 at home. But their schedule doesn’t get much easier today.
Nevada (3-4, 0-1 Mountain West) will host Fresno State (3-3, 1-1) this evening. The Bulldogs were expected to be a conference championship contender going into this season, but they’re coming off consecutive losses to UNLV and Washington State and desperately want to avoid falling below .500.

Fresno State vs. Nevada Prediction
I predict Nevada will win and cover the spread at +3. I also project the game will go Under 50.5 total points.
Nevada is playing at such a high level right now. With Brendon Lewis and Savion Red leading the Wolf Pack’s rushing attack, I’ve been impressed with their offensive production, especially against Oregon State. Jeff Choate is a good coach, and Nevada has played well even during its losses.
And I can’t help but think Fresno State has looked vulnerable this season. The Bulldogs lost to UNLV 59-14 and to Washington State 25-17. And those aren’t bad teams at all, but I get the feeling Fresno State could be looking at another letdown, especially on the road.
