North Texas vs. Navy College Football Prediction And Insights

North Texas has won its last two games to get back to .500 through four contests. Meanwhile, Navy might be 1-3, but the Midshipmen have played a tougher schedule with matchups against Notre Dame, Memphis, and USF.

Both teams will badly want to start their AAC schedules on a high note in this clash.

Odds For North Texas vs. Navy

Navy is a -6 college football betting odds favorite against North Texas, with the Over/Under being 60.5.

The moneyline for Navy is -250, and it’s +200 for UNT.

North Texas Mean Green Football On A Two-Game Winning Streak

After losses to Cal at home and to FIU by seven points on the road, North Texas has won its last two matchups.

Chandler Rogers is UNT’s leading passer. While completing 62% of his passes, he’s totaled 845 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception. He’s also rushed for 103 yards and two scores.

Ayo Adeyi has also sparked the Mean Green’s offense. He’s run for 292 yards and two scores. Through the air, Ja’Mori Maclin paces the team with 348 yards and five touchdowns on 13 catches.

North Texas ranks second in the AAC with 36.3 points per game, but the Mean Green are last in the league with 43 points allowed per game on defense.

UNT safety Logan Wilson leads the team with 25 tackles. Mazin Richards and Kevin Wood have both made explosive plays and have two sacks each.

Navy Midshipmen Football Relying On Its Rushing Attack

Navy is top five in the country with 227.5 rushing yards per contest. And the Midshipmen have turned to multiple players to boost their offense.

Fullback Alex Tecza paces the team with 291 rushing yards and has scored one touchdown. Daba Fofana has run for 196 yards and a score. Quarterback Tai Lavatai is third on the team with 139 rushing yards to go with two touchdowns while throwing for 344 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions on a 51% completion rate.

However, this hasn’t always led to points or team success. Navy is 12th in the AAC with 20.3 points per game scored.

The program is also ninth in scoring defense with 28.5 points per game allowed. This game against UNT will be a good indicator of whether Navy could be competitive and make a bowl game.

Will Harbour is the Midshipmen’s leading tackler with 31. Xavier McDonald leads Navy’s defense with two sacks, while Rayuan Lane III has two interceptions.

North Texas vs. Navy Football Prediction

I’m picking Navy to win and cover the spread at -6 at home. I also see this game going Under 60.5 total points.

Navy hasn’t been perfect this season, but this is a great matchup for the Midshipmen. They depend on their rushing game to sustain drives, and UNT has the worst run defense in the AAC at 241.3 yards per game allowed on the ground.

That will be the difference in this game. I’m anticipating Navy will control time of possession and rely on its defense to make pivotal plays in the second half. The Midshipmen should be capable of winning by a touchdown unless the Mean Green’s defense makes some improvements this week.

North Texas-Navy On TV
