Boise State is just a couple games away from being a Group of Five team to make the College Football Playoff.
The Broncos (10-1, 7-0 Mountain West) have won nine straight games since losing to Oregon by three points early in the season. They’ve also already guaranteed themselves a spot in the Mountain West Championship. But another win would surely bolster their case for one of the byes in the CFP, which they currently are projected to earn.
Boise State won’t have an easy matchup this week against Oregon State. The Beavers are 5-6 overall and have lost five of their last six contests, but a victory against the Broncos would earn them bowl-eligibility, so they still have something to play for here.

Oregon State vs. Boise State Prediction
I project Boise State will win but Oregon State will cover the spread at +18.5. I also predict the game will go Over 57.5 total points.
The Broncos are ranked as one of the top 12 teams by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee and in the Associated Press Top 25, and deservedly so. But they’ve been in some close games that many people expected to be blowouts.
Boise State managed to find a way to beat Wyoming, which is 2-9 this year, 17-13 a week ago. The Broncos’ last two contests were wins over San Jose State by a score of 42-21 and a 28-21 victory over Nevada, which is 3-9 overall.
And I also think Oregon State is much better than its record indicates. The Beavers snapped a five-game losing skid with a win over Washington State, which was also in the AP Top 25 earlier this season, last week. So OSU also has some momentum.
Especially since they play at home, I expect the Broncos to win and for Heisman Trophy candidate Ashton Jeanty to have another superb performance. But I also don’t expect OSU will lose by 20.
