Nothing about the 2021 FCS spring season is going to be normal. Not only on the calendar, but 25 percent of the teams aren’t playing, and the playoff bracket has been reduced.
Some teams are playing eight conference-only schedules. Some are playing six conference-only. Others are playing six conference games with the option of playing up to two non-conference games.
The playoff committee will be tasked with comparing, for example, a 7-1 South Dakota State team vs. a 6-0 Kennesaw State team.
To add to the unbalanced playoff resumes, games played in the fall do count.
To prepare for the upcoming season (and to help ourselves out in our FCS bracketology), let’s take a look at the 10 teams who played games in the fall and are also playing this spring.
