No. 33 David Reese
Florida – LB
Despite missing the entire 2017 offseason after having surgery to repair both wrists, David Reese was one of the SEC's best linebackers in 2017, registering 102 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Imagine what he might do after a healthy offseason learning under one of the best defensive coordinators in college football.
Reese, entering his junior season at Florida, is still playing inside linebacker, but he's now playing under Todd Grantham, whom new head coach Dan Mullen brought with from Mississippi State. And Grantham is pushing the 6-foot-1, 240-pound Michigan native to be a more complete player.
“As far as getting my game better, day in and day out, I’ve been working on my pass coverage, trying to jump routes and be able to help the team in pass coverage also,” Reese said in June. “This is DBU. We always have a great back end and I want to be able to help that. So, working on my pass coverages this summer.”
David Reese in the best No. 33 in college football, earning the nod over Army's Darnell Woolfork, Kent State's Jamal Parker and Alabama's Anfernee Jennings. He is the second Gator on the list, joining defensive end Cece Jefferson.
