College Football Countdown: Houston’s Will Noble is the Best No. 69 in College Football

HERO Sports is counting down the days until the kickoff of the 2018 college football season on Saturday, Aug. 25, by featuring the best player in the FBS at each jersey number, from 99-1. Each day, from May 18 through Aug. 24, we'll publish one article showcasing the best player whose jersey number matches the number of days remaining.

No. 69 Will Noble

Houston – C

By my count, there are only five Nos. 69 projected to start for FBS teams in 2018. So while Houston center Will Noble didn't face an army of competition for the top spot, he is still one of the best offensive linemen in the country.

Only one FBS program wanted Noble as a scholarship player three years ago. You can bet the farm that every FBS program wants him as a scholarship player right now.

The former two-star recruit from Rouse High School in Leander, Texas, accepted his lone offer and signed with Houston in 2015. Months later, he was the Cougars' starting center and enters his senior season with 32 career starts. The 6-foot-4, 297-pounder is also on the Rimington Trophy Watch List for the third straight season and will anchor an offensive line led by new coach Randy Clements.
