Kansas beat Iowa State, 41-36, in Lawrence on Oct. 10, 2009, to improve to 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Big 12. They didn't win another game that season and went 18-97 over their next 115 games, by far the worst record over that time in the FBS.
From 2010-18, Kansas went winless once (2015), never won more than three games in a season, never won more than one Big 12 game in a season, and finished last in the Big 12 in seven of the eight years. Drilling into statistical numbers paints an even more gruesome picture of one of the worst stretches in college football history.
Did that misery make Kansas the most unifying team in the country?
