Ranking Every Bowl Game’s Top 2017 NFL Draft Prospect

10. Music City Bowl
Tennessee vs. Nebraska

Best NFL Draft Prospect
Derek Barnett, DE — Tennessee

Derek Barnett has posted three straight double-digit sack seasons. He averages more than one tackle for loss per game and, unlike many elite pass-rushers, Barnett is very good against the run, using his 6-foot-3, 265-pound frame to overpower lineman and attack the ball-carrier.

With potential No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett in this class, Barnett is being overlooked. Still, he should be a top-15 pick, at worst.

9. Sun Bowl
North Carolina vs. Stanford

Best NFL Draft Prospect
Mitch Trubisky, QB — North Carolina

Will Mitch Trubisky leave after just one good season?

A first-time starter, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound quarterback is smart with the football, throwing only four interceptions to 28 touchdowns — zero interceptions to six touchdowns in limited time in 2015 — and an underrated runner, scoring five touchdowns on the ground.

He should be a first-round pick, if teams aren’t too enamored with Deshaun Watson, Brad Kaaya and others.

8. Rose Bowl
Penn State vs. USC

Best NFL Draft Prospect
Juju Smith-Schuster, WR — USC

Juju Smith-Schuster is no longer the clear-cut No. 1 receiver in the draft, but the 6-foot-2, 220-pound junior remains an elite prospect.

Though he’s not the best route-runner and struggles in traffic, he thrives in open space and could be dangerous if his future NFL coach doesn’t force him into jump-ball situations.

7. Sugar Bowl
Auburn vs. Oklahoma

Best NFL Draft Prospect
Charles Walker, DT — Oklahoma

There’s no denying Charles Walker’s dominance as a defensive tackle — 10 tackles for loss and six sacks in 2015 — but many will question his decision to leave the team in November to prepare for the draft.

Granted, Walker was ruled out of the team’s final two games with a concussion, but that didn’t stop head coach Bob Stoops from saying “quitting on your teammates is hard to take as a coach”.

6. Outback Bowl
Florida vs. Iowa

Best NFL Draft Prospect
Jalen Tabor, CB — Florida
