Former New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount signed a free agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, a move that effectively took the best remaining unsigned player out of the free agent pool.
There's still talent available on the NFL free agent market for teams looking to fill roster spots. Here's a look at the best remaining free agents looking for new NFL homes.

WR Victor Cruz
Released by the New York Giants this offseason, Cruz had 39 catches for 586 yards and a touchdown last season after missing all of 2015 with an injury.
*Note: Victor Cruz signed with the Chicago Bears

TE Gary Barnidge
Barnidge had 55 catches for 612 yards and two touchdowns for a dismal Cleveland squad last season. It didn't match his 1,000-yard production from a season before, but you'd think Barnidge has plenty to offer a new team.

QB Colin Kaepernick
A polarizing figure in the NFL today, Colin Kaepernick is facing the reality of signing as a backup quarterback. He started 11 games for the 49ers last year, completing 196 of 331 attempts (59.2 percent) for 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions. He added 468 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick
Another QB who is unlikely to get another chance to start on opening day, Fitzpatrick started 11 games for the Jets last season, completing 228 of 403 attempts (56.6 percent) for 2,710 yards, 12 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
*Note: Fitzpatrick was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

QB Robert Griffin III
RGIII suffered a shoulder injury in week one for the Browns last year, but returned for the final four games and finished the year completing 87 of 147 attempts (59.2 percent) for 886 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He will also be looking for a backup gig.

RB DeAngelo Williams
Williams is no longer likely to resign with Philadelphia now that they've added Blount and drafted Pitt product James Connor. He played just nine games last year and carried the ball 98 times for 343 yards and four scores.

OLB Elvis Dumervil
Dumervil played in eight games for Baltimore last season, recording nine tackles and three sacks.

WR Anquan Boldin
Does Boldin have anything left in the tank? The 36-year-old recevier caught 67 passes for 584 yards and eight scores last year for Detroit. He was targeted 95 times last year, the first time he's dipped below 100 targets since 2007.

OT King Dunlap
Dunlap is 32, hasn't played a full season in three years, and has had some off the field issues, but is a veteran a team can add for depth at tackle.

RB James Starks

Starks played in just nine games last year and rushed for only 145 yards as the Packers had multiple running backs suffer injuries.

DE Mario Williams
Williams was released after just one season in Miami that saw him record only 1.5 sacks and just nine total tackles. He'll need to convince a team he's still got something left in the tank.

DE Jared Odrick
Odrick played just six games in 2016 for Jacksonville, recording a sack and nine tackles.
[divider]
OT Ryan Clady
Clady is 30 and has only played one complete season in the past three years. Still, he should provide value as a veteran tackle for a team in need.
[divider]
DE Dwight Freeney
Freeney is a situational pass rusher at best at this point in his career. At 37, we might see him retire if he doesn't find a situation he likes.

C Nick Mangold
Mangold was released by the Jets after playing just eight games last season because of an ankle injury. The 33-year-old only missed four games in his first nine seasons prior ro last year.

RB Christine Michael
Michael continued to bounce around the league last year, playing for both Green Bay and Seattle, totaling 583 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.

OLB Erik Walden
31-year-old Walden had 11 sacks and 31 tackles last year for the Colts.
[divider]
DE Devin Taylor
Taylor, 27, could provide some depth at defensive end after recording 4.5 sacks and 21 tackles for the Lions last year.
[divider]
S Jairus Byrd
Byrd had 56 tackles, a pair of interceptions and three passes defended for the Saints last season.

LB DeAndre Levy
Levy has only played six games in the past two seasons. If he can prove he's healthy, he could be a veteran asset for an NFL team.
