The best shot of Friday night's sports calendar had nothing to do with LeBron James.
No. 4 Boston College was tied in an absolute dead heat with No. 1 Maryland in the second semifinal game of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament. The Terps and Eagles were playing a rematch of last year's 2017 national championship game, where Maryland ultimately won 16-13.
Friday's grudge match went back and forth, with both teams trading punches throughout the second half. There were six ties and five lead changes before the game was tied at 13 apiece. With the clock winding under ten minutes, the defenses were clamping down. Neither team could regain the lead.
Then, BC junior Sam Apuzzo scored what eventually proved to be the game-winning goal. The spectacular sequence was a double-juke-and-shoot as she wrapped around the crease that may very well have shattered our entire space-time continuum.

Boston College added an insurance goal and held on to upset No.1 Maryland, 15-13. Apuzzo had four goals.
The Eagles play No. 3 James Madison on Sunday at noon for the Division 1 National Championship. It will be the first title game that doesn't feature Maryland, North Carolina or Northwestern since 2004. Neither program has ever won a national championship
