The 2016 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl continues a three-game college football bowl game slate on Friday, December 23 with a matchup between Louisiana Tech and No. 25 Navy.
This will be the third meeting of the Bulldogs and Midshipmen after Navy swept a home-and-away series in 2009 and 2010 with 32-14 and 37-23 victories.

Friday's game will be the 13th installment of the Armed Forces Bowl. Last year California defeated Air Force 55-36.
Navy will represent a service academy in the Armed Forces Bowl for the eighth time, and will make its second appearance in the bowl game. The Midshipmen defeated Middle Tennessee 24-6 in 2013. Navy is 10-10-1 all-time in bowl games.
Louisiana Tech will make its debut in the Armed Forces Bowl. The Bulldogs are 4-3-1 all-time in bowl games.
The Bulldogs went 8-5 this season, winning the Conference USA West Division but falling to Western Kentucky in the C-USA Championship Game.
Ryan Higgins leads the offensive attack for Louisiana Tech. He threw for 4,208 yards and 37 touchdowns this season, connecting often with wide receiver Trent Taylor 124 times for 1,570 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jarred Craft leads the ground attack with 1,011 yards and nine touchdowns.
Navy heads into bowl season ranked No. 25 in the College Football Playoff Rankings after winning the American Athletic Conference West Division but falling to Temple in the AAC Championship Game.
Navy quarterback Will Worth leads the team in passing (1,397 yards and eight touchdowns) and rushing (1,198 yards and 25 touchdowns). Chris High (500 yards, five touchdowns), Shawn White (443 yards, seven touchdowns), Toneo Gulley (427 yards, four touchdowns) and Dishan Romine (416 yards, one score) were all heavily used in the run game this season.
Louisiana Tech is a seven-point favorite in the Armed Forces Bowl in a game with an over/under set at 68 points.
