The 2024 season appeared to be going in the wrong direction for Memphis just over a month ago.
The Tigers had goals of winning the AAC and maybe even reaching the College Football Playoff. But then they lost at Navy, and it didn’t appear like those accomplishments would be as possible.
But since then, Memphis has won four straight games, including close wins over North Texas and Charlotte most recently.
The Tigers (7-1, 3-1 AAC) will want to keep winning if they want to remain near the top of the conference standings this week, as they take on UTSA (3-5, 1-3) which still has hopes of reaching a bowl game and will desperately want to beat Memphis in order for that to happen.

Memphis vs. UTSA Prediction
I predict Memphis will win and cover the spread at -7.5. I also project this game will go Under 61.5 total points.
Memphis has been in some high-scoring contests recently. The Tigers defeated North Texas 52-44 just a couple weeks ago. But I think their defense will manage to bounce back on the road.
The Roadrunners have been scoring at a pretty high clip recently, averaging 36.7 points per game in their last three outings. So UTSA is a team to be taken seriously despite its record.
But I believe Memphis’ defense is better than people realize. Outside of its games against Navy and North Texas, which have both put up plenty of points on several other teams, the Tigers have given up an average of 9.6 points per game.
And on offense, I’m anticipating Memphis’ stars like quarterback Seth Henigan, running back Mario Anderson Jr., and wide receiver Roc Taylor will help the Tigers remain in control of the game just enough for them to keep their winning streak going.
