78: Jaylin Hendrix, OL (Sr.) β Central Arkansas
Hendrix had big expectations after signing with the Bears in 2018, and he has certainly lived up to them. A three-star recruit from Everman, Texas, and ranked the 201st offensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports, he saw the field right away as a true freshman in 2018 with nine appearances.
He developed into a full-time starter in 2019, earning HERO Sports Sophomore All-American honors. Hendrix continued to progress into a force on the o-line, earning First Team All-Conference honors in the past two seasons (2020 Southland and 2021 ASUN).
The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder was also named a Third Team All-American by the Associated Press last fall. Hendrix was a big helping hand in running back Darius Hale’s standout season. Hale rushed for 1,015 yards and 17 touchdowns, finishing No. 2 in Jerry Rice Award voting for the best FCS freshman.
Hendrix has shown his versatility throughout his career, playing multiple positions on the offensive line at guard and tackle with most of his reps coming at right guard. He will be closing in on 50 career game appearances as this season progresses and should add to his list of postseason accolades.
