Eli Jenkins has led Jacksonville State to the three seed in the FCS Playoffs, using both his arm and his legs to tear up opposing defenses.
On their own, his passing statistics aren’t eye-popping — 1,967 yards, 10 touchdowns, eight interceptions. But add in his 795 rushing yards and 12 scores on the ground, and Jenkins becomes an elite dual-threat.
He totals 251.1 all-purpose yards per game, accounting for 58.1 percent of Jacksonville State’s total offense on the 2016 season.
His 795 rushing yards are 47th-best in all of the FCS and seventh-best among FCS quarterbacks.
Jenkins and the Gamecocks went 7-0 in Ohio Valley Conference play this season and went 10-1 overall, with their lone loss coming the FBS LSU. In their 10 wins, Jacksonville State outscored opponents by an average of 17.9 points.
His impressive season is deserving of one of the top spots on our list as Jenkins and the Gamecocks look to enjoy a deep playoff run.
